Full membership

Applications for this category of membership must satisfy the following:

Must be full members of professional bodies like ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW,all ECSAFA member bodies and other internationally recognised accounting institutes.
Must have gained a minimum of 500 working days relevant practical experience accumulated over a period of 3 years.
Must submit a comprehensive record of practical experience.
Must complete an appropriate membership application form duly signed by two members of the Institute and submit it together with a reference letter from the current or most recent employer. Download application form
Must submit copies of accounting professional certificates certified as genuine copies by a member of the Institute or commissioner for oaths.
Must pay the applicable membership application fees.

SOCAM is given specific powers and duties under the Public Accountants and Auditors Act (Laws of Malawi Chapter 53:06).
